FT: Rotherham United 4 - 0 Youths

Imps suffer opening day defeat.
The hosts started the game brightly, causing problems for the Imps and were soon ahead with the Millers striker slotting home from inside the area to put the home side one-up. Rotherham were in the ascendancy and they continued to cause the City defence problems.
City were soon two down following a penalty kick, Charlie West bringing down his opponent to enable the hosts to double their advantage and this is how it stayed as the half time whistle went.
HT: Millers 2 - 0 Imps
The next goal of the game could be crucial to the outcome and City started the second half far better, switching play effectively and looked to get in behind the Millers defence with the ball being played down the channels, this did create good opportunities but they couldn't reduce the arrears.
Midway through the half, Rotherham capitalised again to go further in front. City continued to try and get back in the game with substitute Wonham firing in from distance but the Millers keeper produced a good save to keep the Imps out.
As the game entered the final few minutes the Millers added a fourth to complete the scoring.
