English Football League Youth Alliance Weekend Preview

By Derek Priestley

A look ahead to this weekend's English Football League Youth Alliance fixtures:

Seventh placed Burton host Hartlepool who are fourth and still have title ambitions with just being a point behind the leaders but have played one match more than their rivals for the crown of champions, the Brewers lost last week to halt a fine run of form, if the Pools can add another win that will be three consecutive victories.

Chesterfield welcome Scunthorpe, four points separates the teams with Iron in the bottom three, both teams had victories last time out.

Bottom of the table Huddersfield have a tough fixture against third in the table Grimsby, but the Mariners have manged just one point from a possible nine and need to halt this if they want to be in the mix for the title come the end of the season.

The Imps with just three matches remaining will be looking to turn around their end of season form, they have lost the last three which has seen them drop down the table to sixth, the Millers have put back to back wins together to move out of the bottom three.

The fixture of the day is second place Mansfield hosting fifth placed Bradford but just a point separates them, the Bantams have played one less than their opponents and will be looking to add to their back to back victories, the Stags are unbeaten in five.

Top of the table Doncaster go to ninth placed Oldham, Rovers lost to the Pools last week which closed the teams up at the top points wise, the Latics also lost last week and are very inconsistent so depending on which team turns up the result could do either way.
