2 months ago By Derek Priestley

Results from this weekend's English Football League Youth Alliance.

ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE YOUTH ALLIANCE

The first half of Scunthorpe's visit to Burton was short on chances other than the home side striking the post, going in at the break it remained goalless, the Brewers thought they had broke the deadlock in the second half but the goal was disallowed, so a point a piece was the outcome.

Three goals in the opening 20 minutes for Grimsby against Bradford was enough for te three points, Burrell with a brace and Pollock also on target.

Chesterfield had a convincing win against Rotherham, four goals without reply, Render with the first before a hat-trick from Amantchi. The Spireites go third, the Millers drop to fifth.

Hartlepool also enjoyed a four goal haul against Huddersfield with Scott, Boyle, Murphy and Rennison all getting themselves on the score sheet which sees the Pools go top of the league, the Terriers finding life in the Youth Alliance North East tough at the minute.

Mansfield went in front from the penalty spot through Sarson against the Imps after 15 minutes but two quick goals from Sartorius who converted from the spot, then Idehen headed home from a corner to put the Imps in front after the break. With 15 minutes remaining Sinclair for the Stags equalised, the Imps then on the stroke of full time snatched a goal, Smith putting the visitors in front but there was still drama in added time, Sinclair adding his second to equalise again to deny the Imps victory.

An early penalty by Bocalossi for Notts County put the home side in front against Oldham, the vistors responded well and were in front mid way through the half following a header and then a mix up in the Notts defence which was fully capitalised upon. Cummings leveled for Notts just after the half hour before the Latics were in front again. Etete made it all square again after the break, Williams put the home side in front soon after and they managed to hold on for the win.
